Acne, though it seems to only affect teenagers going through a rough period in their life, it actually can affect anyone at any age. Almost half the people with acne are over age 25. On top of that, it can be caused by almost anything ranging from the foods you eat to the environment you surround yourself in. Some of the more well-known causes of acne are things like genetics and hormonal changes. A British study done in 2002 points out that 81% of your acne can be attributed to genetic factors rather than environmental ones. So for once, you may be able to say it isn’t your fault!
While working out is supposed to be healthy for the skin, did you know it could also trigger breakouts as well? When sweat mixes with the the oils inside your pores this can clog your pores. So make sure you always wear clean clothing and shower after a workout. And if you’re thinking about a post workout meal, think again about what you’re about to put back into your body because some of it… could cause you to break out.
Dairy products, sugar and oh no - caffeine! These are some of the leading causes of imbalances in the body that causes acne to develop. Other things such as nuts, seaweed, soy and even bread are also things to avoid if you’re on a journey for clear complexion. Yes. Little habitual changes in your lifestyle could improve the quality of your health and your complexion more than you think it will. All it takes is just some patience! So next time you’re deciding between coffee, soda or water - you might want to reconsider if the after effects it can have on your skin.
